Sarah Tilzey, PhD
Licensed Psychologist
Dr. Tilzey completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in child and adolescent trauma, from Palo Alto University. Prior to her graduate training, she earned a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Nevada, Reno. As part of her doctoral training, Dr. Tilzey completed a pre-doctoral Clinical Psychology internship at the Colorado State University (CSU) Health Network. She then continued her training at the CSU Health Network as a post-doctoral fellow, specializing in providing DBT-informed post-hospitalization care to college students.
Dr. Tilzey is continually inspired by her clients and feels strongly dedicated to using strengths-based approaches to foster resilience and help individuals reach their goals and build worthwhile lives. Furthermore, she strongly values the extensive training she received in evidenced-based treatments, including Dialectal Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Interpersonal Process Therapy (IPT), among other approaches. Her training, work experience, and interests extend across the lifespan, and she greatly enjoy working with late teens, young adults, and adults. Dr. Tilzey’s clinical experience includes a wide array of presenting concerns, including trauma, relational concerns, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, identity-based concerns, eating and body image concerns, obsessive-compulsive disorder, suicide, and self-harm behaviors.
